Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Particle size destribution
.
Key study: Particle range was found to be between 208 um- 416 um (paraffin)
Supporting study: Majority of particles are found in the range of 300-1100 um (saturated water solution).

The differential particle size distribution measured in Paraffin is much narrower than the one recorded in the saturated water solution. It appears that sonication of FR-522 –water system increased the solubility of FR-522. As a result equilibrium solid -liquid was shifted. This shift could cause an agglomeration of FR-522 particles. Due to the suspicion that the substance particles size is influenced by solubility and conditions in saturated water solution, the test in paraffin medium is considered to be the representative particle size distribution.
