Description of key information

The melting point range of 4,4'-MDI-DPG-TPG is -19.3 °C to 39.0 °C.  The melting point is reported as the temperature at which melting was complete.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
39 °C

Additional information

Upon heating of the frozen test substance, the material started to melt at -19.30C but did not melt completely . The test material started also to become turbid, indicating crystallisation of the substance. The test material turned into a clear molten mass at a temperature range of

36.30C – 39.00C.

Therefore the melting temperature range is defined as -19.30C to +39.0C
