Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Guideline:
EU Method A.1 (Melting / Freezing Temperature)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
other: Differential Scanning Calorimetry.
Melting / freezing pt.:

The determination of the melting point by DSC, Mettler-Toledo TA8000, were carried out in closed glass pan and in closed aluminium pan. The measurement in the closed glass pan shows an endothermic effect (melting) in the range 130-170 °C and a decomposition of the test substance in the range 180-350 °C, with a decomposition energy of 1243 J/g. So the test for explosive properties has to be performed. In the aluminium pan the diagram shows a broad endothermal effect in the range 115-170 °C.

Mean melting point is 157.4 °C.
