Description of key information

Two studies have been provided to address toxicity to microorganisms.
One study (Klein, 1978) is reliable with restrictions - A bacterial respiration inhibition study was carried out using Glycid. Activated sludge was exposed to Glycid for a period of 3 hours. The study was carried out according to DEV, L3 (TTC-test, Wellens and Zahn, Chemikerzeitung, 1971, No. 10, p. 472). At no concentration were toxic or inhibitory effects observed. The LC50 was observed to be greater than 5600 mg/L.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for microorganisms:
5 600 mg/L

Additional information

Two studies have been provided to address toxicity to microorganisms. One study is reliable with restrictions and the other is considered to be unreliable due to methodological deficiencies.

In the reliable study, (Klein, 1978), a bacterial respiration inhibition study was carried out using Glycid.
