Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The partition coefficients of the substance were calculated using the software KOWWIN v 1.66 of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on the basis of the structural formula of the test item components and possible hydrolysis products. As the substance is a UVCB substance hydrolysing at contact with water, several Kow values were estimated:
- log Kow of the constituents ranged form 3.74 (2,4- /2,6-TDI) to 6.64 (low molecular TDI-Biuret)
- log Kow of 2,4- and 2,6-TDA is 0.16
- for log Kow of hydrolysis products are upwards no limits
(Currenta, 2010)

Additional information

The substance is insoluble or only poorly soluble in water. Even using a co-solvent, the test item immediately precipitates after contact with water. Additionally, it hydrolyses in a very short time (within hours) as could be shown in a hydrolysis test.

Therefore, an experimental determination of the partition coefficient according to OECD TG 107 or 117 (EC 440/2008 A.8.) was not possible.
