Description of key information

The substance (Desmodur VP.PU 60WF 14) has a vapour pressure of 0.11 Pa at 20 °C and 0.12 Pa at 25 °C (Laus, 2010)

Additional information

The graph 1/T vs. log (P) shows no correlation of temperature and vapour pressure. This is attributed to the test item’s composition (mixture: Reaction product of 2,4/ 2,6 TDI (m-tolylidene diisocyanate, CAS 26471-62-5) in excess and m-TDA (diaminotoluene, CAS 25376-45-8) forming Biuret structures via non-isolated polyurea intermediates). Therefore, at lower temperatures, more volatile compounds evaporate, whereas at higher temperatures, the poorly volatile organic compounds show evaporation. No other explanation exists for decreasing vapour pressures at increasing temperatures.

For safety reasons, vapour pressure is stated as upper limit as calculated from the experimentally determined vapour pressures at 20.6 °C and 34.5 °C.
