Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The test material has been determined to loose a volatile component at 603 ± 1 K at 99.46 kPa. The remaining residue on completion of each determination (observed once the crucibles had cooled) was a soft wax, consistent with that of the initial test material. This confirmed that a significant proportion of the test material had a boiling temperature greater than 400°C (>673 K).
Executive summary:

Method:

The determination was carried out by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) using the procedure specified in ASTM E537-86, Method A2 Boiling Temperature of Council Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008.

Discussion:

The remaining residue on completion of each determination (observed once the crucibles had cooled) was a soft wax, consistent with that of the initial test material. This confirmed that a significant proportion of the test material had a boiling temperature greater than 400°C (>673 K).

Result:

Overall result: The test material lost a volatile component at 603 ± 1 K

Conclusion:

The test material has been determined to loose a volatile component at 603 ±1 K at 99.46 kPa. The remaining residue on completion of each determination (observed once the crucibles had cooled) was a soft wax, consistent with that of the initial test material. This confirmed that a significant proportion of the test material had a boiling temperature greater than 400°C (>673 K).
