Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
non flammable
Remarks:
Migrated information
Conclusions:
The burning behaviour of the substance be be described with combustibilkity indes 2, meaning short ignition and rapid extinction after removal of the ignition source. Therefore, the substance has not to be classified as readily combustible solid (UN-transportation) rsp. flammable solid (GHS) rsp. highly flammable solid (EG 440/2008)
Executive summary:

The substance was tested for flammability according to VDI 2263 sheet 1 guideline.

It could only be ignited by a hot platinum wire as ignition source at room temperature and at 100°C and the flame stopped immediately after the ignition sourec was removed. It was not possible to ignite the substance with a hot flame. There was no propargation of the flame. The substance melted after applying the ignition source. Therefore, the test was repeated with a mixture of subtsance : kieselgur = 4 : 1. The same bevaviour was observed as without the addition of kieselgur.

Since there was no independent propargation of the flame the determination of the burning rate is not required.
