Additional information

The substance showed no toxic effects in short-term fish, Daphnia or algae tests at its water solubility limits (up 0.1 mg/L), enhanced in some cases by the use of auxiliary dispersants. Two studies in fish (Brachydanio rerio and Oncorhynchus mykiss) conducted according to the EEC Annex V C1 guideline, showed no mortality. The 96-h LC50s for both species were above their respective water solubility limits of 0.05 or 0.1 mg/L. Semi-static exposure of Daphnia magna to the substance for 48 hours using the EEC Annex V C2 test guideline caused no immobilisation at the same limits of water solubility. The 72-h EbC50 and NOEC growth rate in algae (Scenedesmus subspicatus) were > 0.08 mg/L and >= 0.08 mg/L, respectively (EEC Annex V C3 guideline). .

In an activated sludge respiratory inhibition test conducted according to the OECD 209 test guideline, no inhibition of respiration was detected at a concentration of 100 mg/L. The 3-h IC50 of the substance was > 1000 mg/L.
