Sodium iodide is very stable under ordinary conditions of use and storage. The phototransformation in air is irrelevant to the substance, because the low VP and high water solubility can prove little iodide distribution to air.

Hydrolysis is not a concern to such inorganic substance which can be completely ionized in water phase. sodium iodide will completely dissociate in water giving sodium ion and iodide anion.
