Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Brachidanio rerio, treated with Cosmacol EMI at a concentration (100 mg/L dispersion concentration) exceeding the solubiliy of the substance (1 mg/L) showed no toxic symptoms or mortality during the study (LC50 > 100 mg/L).

Daphnia magna were treated for a period of 48 hours with the test material COSMACOL EMI at a concentration (100 mg/L dispersion concentration), exceeding the solubility of the substance. No immobilization was seen (EC50 > 100 mg/L).

Algae were exposed to the test material, COSMACOL EMI, at a concentration (100 mg/L dispersion concentration) exceeding the solubility of the substance for 72 hours. The study was conducted on an algal culture of Selenastrum capricornutum in growth phase (initial concentration of 10000 cells/ml).

Under the experimental conditions, no difference in algal growth was seen between treated and control cultures (EC50 > 100 mg/L).

During the aquatic short-term studies (fish, Daphnia and Algae) no toxic symptoms or mortality were observed in the treated group up to the highest investigated concentration of 100 mg/L, exceeding the limit of water solubility. Therefore long-term-toxicity tests are not necessary to be conducted.
