The abiotic degradation via hydrolysis is not considered to be a relevant degradation pathway in the environment due to the structure of the molecule and the existing functional groups.

The measured octanol/water partition coefficient (log Kow of 7.04) is high, indicating a high potential for bioaccumulation and the tendency of adsorption to soil and sediment. Furthermore a high log Koc was measured for the substance (log Koc 5.41) and thus adsorption to soil and suspended particles are likely. With a measured vapour pressure of 0.00054 Pa at 20°C (OECD 104/EU Method A.4) and a Henry's Law constant of 9.546 Pa m³/mole volatilization into the atmosphere is of minor importance.

Based on the outcome of biodegradation screening tests according to OECD 301B the substance is not rapidly biodegradable. However, since the pass level of 60% degradation in the enhanced ready test was reached after 38 days it can be concluded that the substance is not persistent in the environment.
