Results and discussion

Auto-ignition temperature (liquids / gases)
Auto-ignition temperature:
490 °C
Atm. press.:
>= 97.6 - <= 98.6 kPa

Any other information on results incl. tables

Preliminary test

The lowest auto-ignition temperature was found around 481 °C (corrected value) with a volume of 190 μL.

The main test was conducted using this volume.

Main test

The volume of test item injected in the oven was 190 μL.

The self ignition runs for each assay are summarized in the table below:

Assay n°  Auto-Ignition Temperature (corrected) °C  Time lag (s)  Atmospheric pressure (kPa)  Relative humidity (%)
 1  490  39  97.9  37
 2  490  38  97.6  41
 3  490  46  98.3  39
 4  490  49  98.6  34
 5  490  40  98.5  35

For safety reasons, the retained Ignition temperature was the lowest temperature at which ignition occurs, i.e. 490°C ± 3 °C (corrected temperature ± accuracy).

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
This parameter/method is not relevant for classification, however the information is useful regarding process safety and potential additional fire hazard. No particular hazard is anticipated in normal conditions of storage.
Executive summary:

The auto-ignition temperature of the test substance was measured according to NF T 20-037 method (listed in EU A15 guideline).

In the preliminary test, different volumes of the item were injected into a heated flask, until the lowest temperature at which ignition occurs was determined. The main test was repeated five times with the same volume.

The auto-ignition temperature of the test item is 490 °C.
