- Move to fresh air.

- Keep at rest.

In case of skin contact:

- Remove contaminated clothing and shoes.

- Wash off with soap and plenty of water.

- Call a physician if irritation develops or persists.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media:

Suitable extinguishing media:

- All extinguishing agents can be used.

Unsuitable extinguishing media:

- None known.

- Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local circumstances and the surrounding environment.

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:

- on heating

- Highly irritating vapours are released.

- Hazardous decomposition products formed under fire conditions.

- Carbon oxides

- Oxides of phosphorus

Advice for firefighters:

Special protective equipment for firefighters:

- Use personal protective equipment.

- For further information refer to section on "Exposure controls/personal protection".

Specific fire fighting methods:

- Evacuate personnel to safe areas.

- Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. This must not be discharged into drains.

Further information:

- Cool containers/tanks with water spray.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:

- Avoid contact with the skin and the eyes.

- Do not breathe fumes.

- Wear suitable protective equipment.

- For further information refer to section 8 "Exposure controls/personal protection".

- Stop leak if safe to do so.

- Remove all incompatible materials as quickly as possible

Environmental precautions:

- Contain the spilled material by bunding.

- Should not be released into the environment.

Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up:

Recovery:

- Clean-up methods - large spillage

- Large spills should be collected mechanically (remove by pumping) for disposal.

- Clean-up methods - small spillage

- Contain spillage, soak up with non-combustible absorbent material, (e.g. sand, earth, diatomaceous earth, vermiculite) and transfer to a container for disposal according to local / national regulations).

Decontamination/cleaning:

- Wash with plenty of water and detergent.

- Recover the cleaning water for subsequent disposal.

Disposal:

- Dispose of contents/ container to an approved waste disposal plant.

Prohibition:

- Never return spills in original containers for re-use.

Reference to other sections:

- no data available

Exposure controls:

Control measures:

Engineering measures:

- Provide adequate ventilation.

- Avoid splashes.

- Facilities and equipment easily cleanable.

Individual protection measures:

Respiratory protection:

- If mist is formed:

- Respirator with a particle filter (EN 143)

Hand protection:

- Impervious gloves

- The selected protective gloves have to satisfy the specifications of EU Directive 89/686/EEC and the standard EN374 derived from it.

- The suitability for a specific workplace should be discussed with the producers of the protective gloves.

- The choice of an appropriate glove does not only depend on its material but also on other quality features and is different from one producer to the other.

Eye protection:

- Safety glasses with side-shields

Skin and body protection:

- Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and eye/face protection.

Hygiene measures:

- Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice.
