Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
short-term toxicity to fish
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 203 (Fish, Acute Toxicity Test)
GLP compliance:
yes
Analytical monitoring:
yes
Vehicle:
yes
Remarks:
Dilution water
Details on test solutions:
Good quality reconstituted water was used. The water used in the test had hardness 86 mg, expressed as Ca content per liter (acceptance criteria 10< Ca < 250 mg), and pH7.71 (acceptance criteria 6 < pH <8.5). The reagents used for the preparation of reconstituted water were of analytical grade and the deionized water had a conductivity <=10 µS/cm.
Test organisms (species):
other: Brachydanio rerio
Details on test organisms:
As test system the fish species Brachydanio rerio was employed in the assay, as described by the guideline OECD 203:1992‘. The animals had a maximal length of 2.0 cm+-1.0 cm at the beginning of the test. they were in good health and free from any apparent malformation, as indicated in the veterinary Certificate.
For this test, the following fish batch was used: 02/2017.
Test type:
not specified
Water media type:
freshwater
Limit test:
yes
Total exposure duration:
96 h
Hardness:
86 mg
Test temperature:
22.5-23°C
pH:
7.33-7.77
Dissolved oxygen:
89.7%-90.6%
Conductivity:
<=10 uS/cm
Nominal and measured concentrations:
3.125 mg/I (nominal concentration)
Reference substance (positive control):
no
Key result
Duration:
96 h
Dose descriptor:
LC50
Effect conc.:
> 3.125 mg/L
Nominal / measured:
nominal
Conc. based on:
test mat. (dissolved fraction)
Basis for effect:
mortality (fish)
Details on results:
Since at 96 hours no fishes e×posed to the test solution were dead, LC50 was evaluated to be > 3.125 mg/I (nominal concentration) or >3.093 mg/I (effective concentration) and the definitive test was not considered necessary.
Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Conclusions:
According to OECD 203: 1992, under the test conditions applied, the LC50 of the test substance is calculated to be > 3.125 mg/I (nominal concentration)or > 3.093 mg/I (effective concentration).
