Description of key information

- OECD 202 guideline study,Daphnia magna, GLP, RL2, read-across to glycolic acid, 48h-EC50: 141 mg/L

-OECD 201 guideline study, Selenastrum capricornutum, GLP, RL2, read-across to glycolic acid, growth rate 72h-EC50: 44.0 mg/L, NOEC: 20 mg/L

- ECOSAR estimation (QSAR):

Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria: 96h-EC50 (Esters): 93.253 mg/L, 96h-EC50 (neutral organics): 268.667 mg/L

Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates: 48h-LC50 (Esters): 181.470 mg/L, 48h-LC50 (neutral organics): 568.046 mg/L

Additional information

The ECOSAR prediction program detected two classes of susbtances of which one was the Esters class, however, since 1,4 -Dioxane-2,5 -dione is considered to hydrolyse fast the estimated EC50 and LC50 values are negligible.
