Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Acute toxicity studies evaluating the toxicity of the substance to aquatic organisms are available for four different trophic levels. All studies were performed according to international guidelines and GLP. Freshwater fish (Gobiocypris rarus) turned out to be the most sensitive species with a LC50 (96 h) of 5.17 mg/L followed by aquatic invertebrates (Daphnia magna; EC50 (48 h): 6.44 mg/L) and aquatic algae (Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata; ErC10 (72 h) of 2.22 mg/L, ErC50 (72 h) of 9.62 mg/L) based on inhibition of growth. The toxicity to the microbial community was studied in a GLP guideline study according to OECD 209. The activated sludge was exposed to the test item concentrations of 10, 32, 100, 320 and 1000 mg/L. The respiration rate of each mixture was determined after aeration periods of 3 hours (no nitrification set up was performed). The EC50 (3 h) is higher than 1000 mg/L based on statistical evaluation. The EC10 (3 h) is observed at 16.6 mg/L. The effect value relates to a nominal concentration, since no analytical monitoring was performed. No inhibition of the degradation process in sewage treatment plants is expected.
