Additional information

Two structure-related tar oils were tested according to OECD guideline 203. Creosote oil, acenapthene fraction is considered representative for the lighter fraction within Distillates(coal tar), upper. Distillates (coal tar), heavy oils on the other hand gives a good indication of the aquatic toxicity of the heavier fractions within distillates (coal tar), upper. Therefore the combination of these tests is considered to be representative for the aquatic toxicity (fish) of the entire range of the registered fraction.
