Appearance:

The substance consists of white to yellow-white fine granules.

Melting point:

The melting point was determined according to EEC Directive 92/69 (1992) - Method A.1. The melting range of the substance was determined to be 275.0 to 276 °C.

Boiling point:

The boiling point of the substance cannot be determined due to thermic decomposition before boiling (T(thermic composition) : 352.5 °C).

Density:

The determination of the relative density of the substance was performed in accordance with EEC Directive 92/69, Part A, A.3 Relative density using a gas comparison pycnometer. The relative density was determined to be D420 = 1.119.

Granulometry:

According to Column 2 of Annex VII Section 7.14 the study does not need to be conducted if the substance is marketed or used in a non solid or granular form. As the substance is used in granular form the study is not required.

Vapour pressure:

The vapour pressure of the substance was determined by calculation using the Modified Grain method, recommended for solid substances. The vapour pressure of the substance was calculated to be 1.18 x 10E-12 Pa at 25 °C.

Partition coefficient:

The partition coefficient of the substance was determined according to EEC Directive 92/69 (1992) - Method A8. The partition coefficient was determined to be log Pow = 1.12 at 20 °C.

Water solubility:

The water solubility of the substance was determined according to EEC Directive 92/69 (1992) - Method A6. The water solubility of the substance was determined to be 0.139 g/l at 30 °C.

Surface tension:

The determination of the surface tension was performed according to EEC Directive 92/69 (1992) - Method A.5. The surface tension of the substance was determined in triplicate. The results are 69.7 mN/m at 0.124 g/l, 69.7 mN/m at 0.111 g/l and 70.5 mN/m at 0.096 g/l.

Flash point:

The substance is a solid that meets the requirements according to Annex VII, column 2, “Specific rules for adaptation from column 1" in the Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 to exclude substance from testing. Therefore a test on the flash point was not performed.

Auto flammability:

Key study: The self-ignition temperature of the substance was deteremined by using the method E.E.C. Directive 92/69 (1992) - Method A16. No self-ignition temperature of the substance was observed.

Supporting study: The test item has no self-ignition temperature according to EC 440/2008, Part A, A.16. up to the melting of the test item or the maximum temperature of 400 °C, respectively.

Flammability:

Key study 1: The flammability of the test substance was determined with the test method according to E.E.C Directive 92/69 (1992) - Method A10.

The test article is non flammable.

Key study 2: The flammability of the test substance upon contact with water was tested by using the method according to E.E.C. Directive 92/69 (1992) - Method A12. The contact of the test article with water did not lead to evolution of gas which may be highly flammable.

Key study 3: The pyrophoric properties of the test substance were determined by using method E.E.C. Directive 92/69 (1992) - Method A.13. The test article did not present any pyrophoric properties.

Explosiveness:

The explosive properties of the test substance were determined by using method E.E.C. Directive 92/69 (1992) - Method A.14. The test article did not present any explosive properties.

Oxidising properties:

The oxidizing properties of the substance were determined by using method E.E.C. Directive 92/69 (1992) - Method A.17. The substance does not possess oxidizing properties.

Stability in organic solvents:

The substance is handled in a solid state and after processing fixed completely in a polymer matrix.

The substance is not handled in organic solvents, therefore, according regulation (EC) no 1907/2006 Annex IX, no testing is required.

Dissociation constant:

Study scientifically not necessary. Based on the chemical structure and the alkaline behaviour of the substance it can be concluded that the compound does not dissociate in water in measurable amounts.

Viscosity:

A test on the viscosity of the substance is not required since the substance is a solid.
