The acid sodium phosphate when intravenously injected in high doses in the rabbits, causes the death of the animal under characteristic tetanus-like contractions. When smaller doses are used the animal dies under a constant depressive syndrome. The minimal lethal dose is equivalent to 1075 g/kg.
