Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

There are no experimental data available of PMDETA for bioaccumulation in aquatic organisms. BCF was estimated using model BCFBAF - EPI Suite (US EPA, 2013a), which is a SAR-based method that uses Kow to estimate BCF . Estimated BCF was 3.16 L/kg wet-wt. The substance falls within the applicability domain and thereforethe predicted value can be considered as reliable taking into account the statistical information for the BCF estimation in training and validation datasets. The predicted value was used for PBT/vPvB assessment and is considered as adequate for the chemical safety assessment (CSA) and no additional information is required.

Additional information

Currently there is no universally accepted definition of model domain.  However, users may wish to consider the possibility that bioconcentration factor estimates are less accurate for compounds outside the MW and logKow ranges of the training set compounds, and/or that have more instances of a given correction factor than the maximum for all training set compounds. Limits for its applicability is

  • Molecular Weight (MW): minimum 68.08  and maximum 991.80
  • Log Kow: minimum -6.50 and maximum 11.26

MW of PMDETA is 173.30 and experimental Log Pow is -2.10.

The estimated BCF value of 3.16 L/kg wet wt indicates low bioconcentration potential.
