Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The hydrolysis of the test substance was assessed according to EU Method C7. The hydrolytic half-lives at 25 °C of the test material and pH 4, pH 7 and pH 9 was > 1 year.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Half-life for hydrolysis:
1 yr
at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

Hydrolysis testing is designed to provide information on abiotic degradation that can help in classification, persistence testing and in determining the fate of a substance in environmental surface waters.

The test substance was assessed for abiotic degradation as a function of pH according to EU Method C7, using sterile buffers at pH 4, 7 and 9.

The test item is dissolved in aqueous buffer solutions across an environmentally relevant pH range and incubated in the dark at a specific temperature. The concentration of the test item was then determined as a function of time, using GC.

At pH 4, pH 7 and pH 9 there was less than 10 % hydrolysis after a period exceeding 5 days at 50 °C, equivalent to a half-life greater than 1 year at 25 °C.
