Additional information

The UVCB substance WS400517 is not readily biodegradable. However, based on the following reasons it is not necessary to investigate the biodegradation of WS400517 in water and sediment compartments or in soil. (1) The concentration of substance in the environment will be extremely low because (a) the substance is not directly introduced into the environment and (b) it has very low water solubility (< 1 mg/l). (2) The substance has a relatively high molecular weight (897 Da) and thus a low potential to cross biological membranes. (3) The substance has a low bioaccumulation potential based on log Pow = 2.2 and the high molecular weight. (4) The substance has a low log Koc = 2.4 and thus no high potential for adsorption to sediment and soil. (5) The substance has a very low toxicological and ecotoxicological potential without any hazard classification.
