For the calculation of the surface tension of the test item, the mean of the measured surface tension values was corrected by the calibration factor and by the Harkins-Jordan correction.

In order to describe the time dependence of the surface tension after transferring the Reactive Yellow F01-0555 solution to the measurement vessel, repeated measurements were carried out with increasing the equilibrium time. The equilibrium time for these five measurements was 330-360 sec.(see Table 1).

Conclusions:
The surface tension of the aqueous solution of Reactive Yellow F01-0555 is 71.5 mN/m.

As the surface tension value was higher than 60 mN/m,the test item is not classified as surface active substance
Executive summary:

The objective of the study was toevaluate the surface tension of Reactive Yellow F01-0555 applying the ring method. The method is based on the measurement of the force, which is necessary to exert vertically on a ring, in contact with the surface of the liquid, in order to separate it from the surface.

The determination of the surface tension was carried out using a Krüss K6 Tensiometer applying the ring method. The measured value was found to be 71.2mN/m at 20.5°C.

The surface tension value after correction by the Harkins-Jordan correction factor is71.47 mN/m at 20.5 °C.

As the surface tension value was higher than 60 mN/m, Reactive Yellow F01-0555 is not classified as surface active substance.

Description of key information

The surface tension value of the substance is 71.47 mN/m at 20.5 °C. As the surface tension value was higher than 60 mN/m, Reactive Yellow F01-0555 is not classified as surface active substance.
