Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Using a linear heating rate of 0.5°C/min, Reactive Yellow F01-0555 did not melt up to 400°C. The colour and appearance of the test item changed to black during the test.

Conclusions:
Using a linear heating rate of 0.5 °C/min, Reactive Yellow F01-0555 did not melt up to 400 °C.
Executive summary:

For the determination of the melting point or melting range, the capillary method was used. A small amount of the test item was heated in the electronic controlled sample block and the temperature around the sample was displayed. The sample was

observed visually while raising the temperature. The initial and final melting temperatures were determined.

At 230°C to 400°C at 2°C/min heating rate, the colour of the test material changed to brown at approximately 237°C and to black at approximately 303°C. There were some changes in the consistency of the solid phase (at 311°C and 344°C), but the test

material remained as a solid to the maximum temperature of 400°C.

After placing the test material into a furnace at 400°C for 10 minutes, the surface of the test materials became black, the rest of the test material was brown. There was no visible liquid fraction.

For the main study three capillaries containing the test item were placed into the apparatus, the block was heated from 390°C to 400°C at 0.5°C/min heating rate. The transformations of the test item were observed visually through the magnifying glass.

Three parallel experiments were carried out and in each case three parallel samples were measured.

Using a linear heating rate of 0.5°C/min, Reactive Yellow F01-0555 did not melt up to 400°C. The colour and appearance of the test item changed to black during the test.

In conclusion, no melting point was observed up to 400°C, although the outer surface of the tested material changed from approximately 237° C due to oxidization and / or decomposition.

Description of key information
