water solubility
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
other information
Study period:
2002
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study with acceptable restrictions
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.6 (Water Solubility)
Deviations:
yes
Remarks:
pretest only
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
other: turbidity meter
Key result
Water solubility:
0.02 g/L
Temp.:
25 °C
Remarks on result:
other: screening method
Details on results:
Results were determined using a screening method based on the detection of the beginning of precipitate formation upon portion-wise addition of an organic solution of the respective test substance under continuous stirring into an excess volume of water while maintaining a temperature range of 25 to 30 °C.
Due to the specifics of the screening method, the above value is expected to represent an upper limit which should not be exceeded by the test substance in its crystalline form.
Conclusions:
The water solubility of the substance was determined in "pretest quality" to be 0.02 g/L at 25 °C.
Executive summary:

The water solubility of the substance was determined in "pretest quality" to be 0.02 g/L using a screening method based on the detection of the beginning of precipitate formation upon portion-wise addition of an organic solution of the respective test substance under continuous stirring into an excess volume of water while maintaining a temperature range of 25 to 30 °C.

Description of key information
