'Lead alloy, base, Sn, Pb, dross' is a solid in granular or particulate form. It is produced by skimming the precipitate surface layer formed during the production and/or use of lead-tin alloys under oxidising conditions. 'Lead alloy, base, Sn, Pb, dross' is composed primarily of lead and tin in oxide and/or metallic form, and may contain amounts of sodium, copper and antimony in oxide, silicate, sulphide and/or metallic forms.

The substance is a grey to brown, odourless solid (at 20°C and 101.3 kPA) in a compact form or in the form of particulates.

The density will vary according to the precise composition of the sample. The density of the tested sample was 2.08 g/cm3. The melting point is shown to be > 500°C. Consequently, boiling point and vapour pressure cannot be determined. The water solubility test shows dissolution of metal ions. One sample was tested for granulometry, a D50 = 51 µm was determined. Both the results of the water solubility test and the granulometry test should be used with caution.

There is no evidence of physical hazards in terms of (auto) flammability, explosivity and oxidising properties.

Studies regarding boiling point, vapour pressure, partition coefficient,dissociation constant,surface tension, flash point, stability in organic solvents, and viscosity do not need to be conducted.
