Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
sub-chronic toxicity: inhalation
Data waiving:
exposure considerations
Justification for data waiving:
a short-term toxicity study does not need to be conducted because exposure of humans via inhalation in production and/or use is not likely as based on the provided thorough and rigorous exposure assessment
Justification for type of information:
JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING

Testing or estimation for the inhalation route is only appropriate if exposure of humans via inhalation is likely taking into account the vapour pressure of the substance and/or the possibility of exposure to aerosols, particles or droplets of an inhalable size. In any case, the human health hazard assessment is driven by the hazard assessment of the individual UVCB constituents. For most of the relevant constituents, toxicity data in the form of DNELs (and the required contextual information) is available from associated REACH registration files.

The UVCB is also calculated (in MeClas) to be classified as STOT RE1 on a constituent-based approach. Therefore additional testing is not required.
