Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Details on test solutions:
PREPARATION AND APPLICATION OF TEST SOLUTION
- Method: The test substance is not stable and dissolvation in water is slow. Stock dispersions were prepared for each 24 hour renewal. The stock dispersions were treated by ultra sonification for 30 minutes. No prolonged stirring interval was used to avoid complete hydrolysis before the start of exposure.

Test organisms

Test organisms (species):

- Common name: water flea
- Source: Originally from "Institut National de Recherche Chimique appliquee, France", and has been bred from 1978 in the Laboratories of BASF
- Age at study initiation: 2 - 24 h (starting with the 3rd breed of parent animals)
- Feeding during test: none

BREEDING CINDITIONS
- Photoperiod: 16 hours light, 8 hours dark
- Temperature: 20 ± 2 °C
- Diet: Desmodesmus subspicatus
- Feeding: Daily
- Renewal of the breeding water: Monday, Friday

- Alkalinity: 0.86 mmol/L
- Conductivity: 608 µS/cm
- Intervals of water quality measurement:
- Temperature: Continuously during the whole test period in a separate vessel close to the test vessels.
- pH and oxygen: After 0h and 24h (new test solutions) in an additional parallel without daphnids and after 24 h and 48h (old test solutions) in parallel 1 of each tested concentration

OTHER TEST CONDITIONS
- Photoperiod: day:night rhythm = 16 : 8 h

Any other information on results incl. tables

For an evaluation of the results the nominal concentrations should be used, since the effects observed in this test include effects of undissolved test substance and of the products of hydrolysis.
