First-aid measures

Inhalation: There will be immediate irritation of the throat and mouth, followed by the rapid onset of shortness of breath, anxiety and loss of consciousness. The patient may have a smell of bitter almonds on his breath. Convulsions can occur and death may occur within 30 minutes.
If the patient is conscious, he should be placed flat on his back and rest quietly under supervision. Give amyl nitrite - break an ampoule of amyl nitrite 0,17mg into a hand kerchief or cloth, and hold under the patient’s nose so that he inhales the vapour. This should be repeated with a further ampoule at 3-minute intervals, using up to 5 ampoules. If the patient is unconscious, place in the unconscious position and start artificial respiration (by the Silvester´s method), ev. give oxygen, and heart compression if breathing has stopped and the pulse cannot be felt. If the breathing and pulse are present, give amyl nitrite as up. Do not give anything by mouth to an unconscious patient. Do not give alcohol, morphine or any stimulant. Seek medical advice immediately.
Convulsions : Place the patient in the unconscious position. Ensure that there are no hard or sharp objects in the vicinity so that the patient will not injure himself. Give diazepam 5mg intramuscularly .If this does not control the fit within 10 to 15 minutes, give a further injection of diazepam intramuscularly. Seek medical advice immediately.
SKIN CONTACT: There may be irritation and pain, event. may be evidence of a chemical burn - redness and severe pain. This substance is absorbed through the skin, even as gases, producing similar symptoms to those of inhalation and ingestion
Remove contaminated clothing and shoes immediately. Wash off the chemical immediately with copious quantities of water at least 10 minutes. Continue for a further 10 minutes if there is any evidence of substance still on the skin. If burns are severe and extensive, seek medical advice immediately

EYE CONATACT: There may be irritation and redness. Burns may occur.
Wash the chemicals out of the eye with copious amounts of water as quickly as possible min. 10 minutes. If there is any doubt whether the product has been completely removed, repeat eyewash for a further 10 minutes. For treatment of severe pain, give 2 paracetamole tablets by mouth every 4 hours until the pain has been relieved. If there is very severe pain, give morphine sulphate 7,5mg (half an ampoule) intramuscularly. Seek medical advice immediately.

INGESTION:, Symptoms and treatment are as on inhalation
Rinse mouth with clean water. Give 2-3 glasses of water or active charcoal dissolved in water. Do not induce vomiting, immediately seek medical help.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: CO2, dry chemical powder.

Do not use a direct water, only if it is necessary water-fog (substance evolves highly toxic, flammable and corrosive gases)..
Protect against toxic and irritating fumes, wear protective clothing and self - contained breathing apparatus when dealing with fire
Further information: In fire, explosion hazard.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
Do not breathe dust or vapour. Avoid generation of dust. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Personal protective equipment - section 8. Avoid prolonged or repeated exposure. Wear full protective clothing when dealing with spillage.
Environmental precautions
Prevent large amounts of the substance from entering the environment.
Methods and material for containment and cleaning up
Area should be close down and indicate. People, living and industrial buildings in this danger area should be informed, event. evacuated ( facing the wind).Remove all sources of ignition and from open heat. No smoking. Sweep up this material into a dry suitable container and event. discard to incineration. Clean up place with copious quantities of water. Personal protective equipment section 8.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling
Do not breathe dust or vapour. Avoid generation of dust. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Personal protective equipment - section 8. Avoid prolonged or repeated exposure.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Store in a cool dry and well- ventilated place in origin hermetically sealed containers. Keep away from food, drink and animal feeding stuffs. Refrigerate, store at temperature +2 oC to +8 oC. Open container - store away from all sources of ignition and open heat. When using do not smoke, drink or eat. Substance is water and moisture sensitive - see section 3.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Exposure controls
General:
Protective clothing, should be selected specifically for the working place, depending on concentration and quantity of the hazardous substances handled. The resistance of the protective clothing to chemicals should be ascertained with the respective supplier.
Personal protective equipment:
Respiratory protection: Required when dusts are generated. Filter 89 B/St (acc, to DIN 3181) for inorganic gases, vapours and dust
Eye protection: Wear chemical safety goggles.
Hand protection: Wear chemical-resistant gloves and protective clothing.
Skin protection: Wear suitable work clothes.
Environmental exposure control:
Prevent the product from entering the environment, water bodies and sewer system.

Stability and reactivity

Substance evolves with water or moisture very toxic, flammable and corrosive gases HCN and HBr. May explose when heated, polymerise violently on prolonged storage at ambient temperature.
Stable at normal temperature and pressure.
Fire may liberate toxic gases and fumes.

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods
a) Possible hazards in disposing of the substance and contaminated packaging
Waste must be disposed of in accordance with federal, state and local environmental control regulations. Recommended disposal method of the preparation and contaminated packaging: dispose of the packaging in the same way as of the product, together with communal waste.
b) Physical/chemical properties that may affect waste treatment
