Results and discussion

Results:
- Localized corrosion: not observed with both the steel and aluminium test specimens
- Uniform corrosion:
Weight loss of aluminium plates: 0.0018, 0.0074 and 0.015%
Weight loss of steel plates: 0.008, 0.0066 and 0.0067%
- As localized corrosion was not observed and all weight losses were < 13.5% (i.e. equivalent to < 6.25 mm/year corrosion rate), the undiluted test substance is considered to be not corrosive to aluminium and steel

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
In a GLP-compliant study performed in accordance with UN-MTC Section 37 (Test C.1) using aluminium and steel plates, all weight losses (uniform corrosion) were < 13.5% in a 7-day test period (i.e. equivalent to < 6.25 mm/year corrosion rate). Localized corrosion was not observed. The undiluted test substance is therefore considered not corrosive to metals according to the CLP Regulation.
