Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove promptly to fresh air. If not breathing, administer
artificial respiration and seek immediate medical attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush with water for at least 15 minutes, including under
eyelids. If irritation continues, seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash affected area with soap and water.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek immediate medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, foam, carbon dioxide, dry powder may be used.

Product arising from burning: Expected to include oxides of carbon, sulphur and nitrogen.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Usual full protection by suitable clothing and positive
pressure, self-contained breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: For the aqueous preparation (ink), absorb spillage into
cloth or other suitable material and bag for disposal.
Spillage site can then be washed with water, but measures
should be taken to avoid wet waste discharge to
drains/surface water.

Handling and storage

Handling: Only the preparation containing the substance will be
available in the EU and this low-hazard, aqueous solution
will be contained within sealed cartridges until its use in
printers. Only normal hygiene standards need to be applied
when using the printers and handling printed paper or waste
cartridges.

Storage: Room temperature, in the dark. Keep away from direct
sunlight. Do not freeze.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: The preparation (ink) is contained in 10 - 20 ml cartridges.
Each cartridge is covered by plastic-aluminium film and a
number of them are packed in a pasteboard box. Several
pasteboard boxes are then packed in corrugated cardboard.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: None reported.

Chemical reaction with water: None reported.

Dust explosion: No dust generation or explosion hazard can be expected. The
preparation imported into the EU is an aqueous solution
contained within a cartridge.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: None reported

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None reported.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Mix with combustible material, followed by controlled
incineration. Flue scrubbing is recommended for substances
containing gas halogens, sulfur or nitrogen.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: None known.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: None reported.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: None reported.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: It is expected that, after use, the substance will be
collected in general waste and disposed of by incinceration
or landfill.
