Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Sample tested:
other: 1:2 sample-to-cellulose ratio
Parameter:
preliminary test
Remarks on result:
other: only burned when the gas burner was applied and the flames rapidly extinguished within 1 second
Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
Substance is non-oxidising
Executive summary:

The study was performed to determine the oxidising properties of the test substance according to EEC method A.17. For each of the samples, it was noted that the mixtures only burned when the gas burner was applied. The flames rapidly extinguished within 1 to 2 seconds on removal of the heat source.

As neither mixture of 2:1, 1:1 or 1:2 test substance/cellulose burned to completion, the test substance is considered to be non-oxidising.

Description of key information

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
non oxidising

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

Substance was not oxidizing in a test according to EU Method A.17; therefore, no classification is required according to EU Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures (CLP) Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.
