Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

The log partition coefficient (log Pow) values determined for the two components detected in the test substance were as follows:

Test Substance

Mean Retention Time (minutes)

*Exceeds the latest mean retention time of the reference standards (4,4’-DDT, 39.3 minutes); log Pow of the test substance was therefore extrapolated using a linear regression model.

The test substance contains the major component and a known impurity. Based on the chromatography from the test substance characterization by the Sponsor, the impurity elutes prior to the main constituent, under similar conditions as used in this study. It is therefore reasonable to postulate that the impurity is Component 1 and the main constituent is Component 2.

Conclusions:
The partition coefficient (log Pow) of the substance was determined to be greater than 6.5, the highest Log Kow of reference standards tested (p,p-DDT).
Executive summary:

In a study performed to the standardised guideline OECD 117, under GLP conditions, the partition coefficient (log Pow) of the substance was determined by the reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method.

The partition coefficient (log Pow) of the substance was concluded to be greater than 6.5, the highest Log Kow of reference standards tested (p,p-DDT).

Description of key information

In a study performed to the standardised guideline OECD 117, under GLP conditions, the partition coefficient (log Pow) of the substance was determined by the reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method.

The partition coefficient (log Pow) of the substance was concluded to be greater than 6.5, the highest Log Kow of reference standards tested (p,p-DDT) (Smithers Viscient, 2018).
