Description of key information

Aquatic toxicity testing in daphnids, freshwater algae, fish and microorganisms led to the following acute values:

  • 96-hour NOEC in fish >= 30.85 mg/L
  • 48-hour EC50 in daphnids = 30.85 mg/L
  • 72-hour ErC50 in freshwater algae = 33.66 mg/L
  • 3-hour NOEC in microorganisms = 100 mg/L

Additional information

Studies on the acute aquatic toxicity of N1,N3-diallylpropane-1,3-diamine dihydrochloride are available for all three trophic levels and for inhibition of respiration in microorganisms. All studies were conducted according to OECD guidelines and GLP. The most sensitive species was Daphnia magna with a 48-hour EC50 of 30.85 mg/L.

Due to exposure considerations, testing of long-term toxicity to aquatic organisms is not indicated. N1,N3-diallylpropane-1,3-diamine dihydrochloride is not expected to come into contact with the aquatic environment. For further details please refer to the report "Exposure based adaptation information - N1,N3-diallylpropane-1,3-diamine dihydrochloride” attached in IUCLID Chapter 13.
