The instrument was calibrated with 0.3, 0.5 and 0.8 g of standard weights. The surface tensions of the standard weights were observed and recorded as 24.40, 40.60, and 65.80 mN/m, respectively. A calibration curve was drawn between the observed surface tension and the standard weights. The mean scaling factor was calculated to be 1.0020 with a RSD of 0.709%. The surface tension of water was observed and recorded as 72.80 and 72.60 mN/m for replicates R1 and R2, respectively. The literature value (72.72 mN/m) for the surface tension of water was divided by the measured surface tension of water. The mean water calibration correction factor was calculated to be 1.0003 with a RSD of 0.200%. The test item was analyzed in triplicate. The surface tension measurement was done within 30 minutes from the time of preparation. The surface tension of the test substance (1 g/L) was determined as 31.31, 31.51, and 31.71 mN/m for replicates R1, R2, and R3, respectively. The calculated mean surface tension of Dihydro Isojasmonate was determined as 31.51 mN/m with a RSD of 0.635% at 20.2°C.
