Additional information

No studies were conducted on the target substance. The target substance is hydrolytically unstable that, when coming into contact with water, it rapidly hydrolyzs to form 2-propanol, isostearic aicd and insoluble titanium dioxide. Therefore, the intrinsic toxicity of the target substance lies in the hydrolysis products.

The titanium dioxide is not considered further in this report as aquatic toxicity assessments do not apply.

Isostearic acid has very low water solubility (c.a. 0.597 mg/l at 20°C) and therefore exposure to the isostearic acid is unlikely.

2-propanol is practically miscible with water and therefore is taken into consideration. The 24h EC50 to Daphnia magna was > 10000 mg/l (Bringmann and Kühn, 1977). This value is used for CSA evaluation.
