Biodegradation in water: screening tests

Description of key information

Two test for biodegradation are available:

In a first test the item was tested for biodegradation in an OECD 301 B test . After 28d exposure a degradation rate of 57 % CO2 evolution was determined.

second test :

In a new degradation test designed and performed as an enhanced version of the OECD 301 B, the degradation based on CO2-evalution reached vales of 69% after 28d and 94% on 58d. Therefore, the substance can be regarded to be readily biodegradable. The 10d window does not need to be applied since the test item is a UVCB.
