Results of the determination of water solubility

The Zinc di(benzimidazol-2-yl) disulphide concentrations were calculated with the help of the calibration equation given above.

Measured concentrations of Zinc di(benzimidazol-2-yl) disulphide are summarised in the table below. The repeatability of the determination was < 15% and thus within the range required by the guidelines.

Conclusions:
A water solubility of 45 ± 5 mg/L at 20 ± 0.5 °C was determined for the test item.
Executive summary:

The water soulbility was determined in accordance with OECD guideline 105 adn EU method A.6 (TOXICOOP, 2018). The shake flask method was used. The water solubility of the test item was determined to be 45 ± 5 mg/L (95% confidence interval) at 20 °C ± 0.5 °C.

Description of key information

A water solubility of 45 ± 5 mg/L at 20 ± 0.5 °C was determined for the test item.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Water solubility:
45 mg/L
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

The water solubility was determined in accordance with OECD guideline 105 and EU method A.6 (TOXICOOP, 2018). The shake flask method was used. The water solubility of the test item was determined to be 45 ± 5 mg/L (95% confidence interval) at 20 °C ± 0.5 °C.

The water solubility was additionally calculated using WATERNT v1.01 as part of EPISuite v4.11 from US Environmental Protection Agency. Using WATERNT v1.01 the water solubility of the test item was calculated to be 1772.5 mg/L at 25 °C (EPI Suite, 2014).
