Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The environmental hazard assessment of zinc diacrylate is based on data for zinc (as zinc compounds) and acrylic acid since the substance dissociates to these two constituents rapidly and completely in water. A very large database exists for zinc, from which only a selected number of acute studies are reported below. Available acrylic acid data is also presented. Overall, the available evidence suggests that the driver for environmental effects is the zinc ion. PNEC values for zinc acrylate were therefore extrapolated from those proposed for zinc in the EU Risk Assessment report using all adequate chronic data on fish, invertebrates, algae and plants considered together in a species sensitivity distribution (SSD). As a result of the analysis, a PNEC freshwater of 20.6 µg Zn/L was derived (ECB, 2008). This is equivalent to 169 µg zinc diacrylate/L.
