Description of key information

Acute aquatic studies with Propan-1-ol, 2-amino-2-methyl-, 4-methylbenzenesulphonate are available for all three tropic levels and microorganisms. The substance was just slightly toxic for freshwater algae.  The growthrate of Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata was reduced by 50% at a (ErC50) concentration of 70 mg/L and by 10% at a (ErC10) concentration of 53 mg/L. The threshold concentration of 70 mg/L had no lethal or toxic effect  on zebrafish (LC0) and the concentration of 100 mg/L (NOEC) had no adverse effect on daphnia. The respiration activity of activated sludge was not inhibited up to a concentration of 1414 mg/L (NOEC).
