Executive summary:

The determination of explosive properties was carried out according to EEC Directive 84/449, Part A, Methods for the Determination of Physico-ChemicaI Properties 4.14. Explosive Properties.

The thermal sensltivlty was assayed according to the steel tube procedure (BAM); mechanical sensitivity was assessed for shockt and friction (EMPA). 6 replicates were run for each test.

Conclusion

According to the results obtained, the substance can be considered as non-explosive.

Description of key information

Non explosive

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

EU Method A.14

Justification for classification or non-classification

According to the CLP Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008, 2.1 section, an explosive substance or mixture is a solid or liquid substance or mixture of substances which is in itself capable by chemical reaction of producing gas at such a temperature and pressure and at such a speed as to cause damage to the surroundings. Pyrotechnic substances are included even when they do not evolve gases.

On the basis of the results obtained in the screening test, performed in accordance with the EU method A.14, the substance can be considered as non-explosive.
