The mean reaction times of test item and cellulose mixtures in ratios 4:1 and 1:1 were superior to the mean reaction times measured during this study for the potassium bromate and cellulose mixtures in ratios 3:7, 2:3 and 3:2. Therefore, the test can be considered as negative, and the test item is not considered an oxidising solid.

Conclusions:
The oxidising properties of tris[oxalato(2-)]digadolinium were investigated according to the UN O.1 test method in compliance with GLP. Deviations from the guideline, which did not impact the quality or the results of the study, were observed. No reaction was recorded with the test item / cellulose mixtures in proportions 1:1 and 4:1. Therefore, the test item was not considered as an oxidising solid of Division 5.1 and thus was not assigned to any packing group and not classified as an oxidising solid under the CLP regulation.

Description of key information

Gadolinium oxalate is not classified as an oxidising agent based on a GLP study performed according to the UN O.1 test guideline (Klimisch 1, Demangel, 2016). This study was assigned as key study.
