Description of key information

In accordance with Annex VIII information on carcinogenicity is not required for a substance manufactured/imported in amounts 10-100 tons. The genotoxicity of the substance has been assessed for three genotoxicity endpoints: genotoxicity in bacteria, genotoxicity in mammalian cells and information on chromosomal aberrations all assessed in vitro, resulting in the absence of genotoxicity. Therefore no genotoxic carcinogenicity is expected.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Carcinogenicity: via oral route

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no adverse effect observed

Justification for classification or non-classification

The genotoxicity of the substance has been assessed (see IUCLID section 7.6 and CSR section 5.7) resulting in absence of genotoxicity in vitro. Therefore no genotoxic carcinogenicity is expected. Classification for carcinogenicity of the substance is therefore not warranted in accordance with EU Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures (CLP) Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 and its updates.
