Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Melting point (OECD 102; EU-method A.1): > 350°C; at ca. 350°C and above decomposition of the test item

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
350 °C

Additional information

The melting point for the submission substance was determined by differential scanning calorimetry according to OECD 102 and EU-method A.1 compliant with GLP. As a result of three test runs (preliminary test; two test runs within the main test), the melting point must be above the thermal decomposition temperature within ambient air of ca. 350°C. During the preliminary test (heating rate of 20 K/min from 25 °C to 400 °C), the sample lost 50% of its mass and was coloured black, foamed and carbonized. As a result of the main tests (recorded between about 200 °C to 365 °C and 400 °C, respectively at a heating rate of 10 K/min), the sample lost 39 % and 42 % of its mass, respectively. Again the sample was carbonized and coloured black. In conclusion, the submission substance does not melt under the conditions of the test. Reaction or decomposition of the test substance was observed at temperatures above about 350 °C.
