Description of key information

The substance in a saturated solution (approx. 28 mg/L) had no inhibitory effect on the growth of Pseudomonas putida. The increase in growth is not considered relevant in terms of aquatic toxicity. Furthermore, the test is not designed for the evaluation of growth-stimulating effects.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for microorganisms:
28 mg/L

Additional information

"Should read: > 28 mg/L"

There was a slight decrease in growth in all concentrations compared to the control. This was not considered to be relevant since there was no clear concentration/effect relationship, wh ich indicated that the variation of the growth was independent of the test substance. Furthermore, the growth inhibition at the two highest concentrations was below 10%, which is only marginal if the EC10 is considered as the toxicity threshold according to the German "DIN standard method".
