Description of key information

According to the REACH GUIDANCE 7.C Version 3.0, 2017 p.134 it is stated: " Effects on terrestrial organisms Column 2: “these tests do not need to be conducted if direct and indirect exposure of soil compartment is unlikely.” .... ...In the case of readily biodegradable substances which are not directly applied to soil it is generally assumed that the substance will not enter the terrestrial environment and as such there is no need for testing of soil organisms is required..."

The registered substance is readily biodegradable and has a log KOW of -2.01. The terrestrial PNEC is deviated from a Nitrogen-Transformation test (OECD 216).

The Nitrogen-Transformation test (OECD 216) which can be also considered as a long term test (REACH guidance Chapter 7.C Endpoint specific guidance R7.11.3 ) resulted in a NOEC of > 1000 mg/kg soil. Using an assessment factor of 1000 a PNEC of 1 mg/kg soil was deviated. Based on this value all uses in the risk assessment show a PEC/PNEC ratio of << 1 for the terrestrial compartment indicating no need for additional testing.
