Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

TGA EXPERIMENT (PRELIMINARY TEST)

From 100°C upwards the weight of the sample decreased significantly. At 256°C the sample weight had decreased by 25%. After the experiment, a colourless molten residue remained in the sample container (original colour: slightly yellow). The change of the colour indicated reaction and/or decomposition.

DSC EXPERIMENTS

In none of the experiments, effects were observed due to melting (or boiling) during cooling and heating. The residue at the end of each test was molten and colourless. The colour change may be due to reaction/decomposition and/or evaporation of part of the substance. DSC curve of Experiment 1 is shown below.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The substance has no melting temperature.

Executive summary:

Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) experiments were performed in a GLP study according to EC A.1, OECD 102 and OPPTS 830.7200.

Reaction/decomposition and/or evaporation of the substance starts at ca 100°C. Melting of the substance was not observed below the temperature at which reaction/decomposition and/or evaporation started. The substance has no melting temperature.
