Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
18/02/2016 - 04/03/2016
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Justification for type of information:
A GLP study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.15 (Auto-Ignition Temperature (Liquids and Gases))
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Specific details on test material used for the study:
Lot No: BL04R1D1EA
Key result
Auto-ignition temperature:
> 600 °C
Atm. press.:
ca. 100.5 kPa

A few orange sparks were observed about 1-2 seconds after injection of sample. The sample contains a large proportion of water. It is suspected that boiling may quench any potential ignition and the sparks produced are from the salt content of the sample. A second injection was carried out at 600 °C at 100 µL to confirm a no ignition after being unclear at first attempt.

Conclusions:
The test item was found to have an autoignition temperature above 600 oC.
Executive summary:

The test item was found to have an autoignition temperature above 600 oC in a study using Method EC A.15.
