The analogue substance was tested for acute toxicity to fish, aquatic invertebrates and toxicity to aquatic algae (NONS dossier, 1997).

In the acute toxicity test to fish the substance showed a LC50, 96h >24 mg/l. Moreover, no mortality was observed up to 24 mg/l and the LC50, 96h can be considered above 24 mg/l. The substance does not show any toxic effect up to its solubility limit in the tested medium .

The aquatic algae EC50, 72h >100 mg/l (growth rate) and > 40.9 mg/l (biomass) and the acute toxicity to aquatic invertebrates showed a EC50, 48h > 259 mg/l.

Based on the read across considerations same results apply to Reactive Orange 11.
